Based on sunrise sketches of the harbour at Gythion (Greece) of boats silhouetted against the sea, sky and distant mountains.
Strips of fabric inserted into blue/black Yukata cotton. Machine quilted using decorative stitches, twin-needle and from reverse. Hand stitched with indigo dyed sashiko thread. Surface painted after quilting with acrylics.
